Project Development and Management Team:
Mr. Jasvant Shah, M. S, (Elec) Chairperson
Mr. Jasvant Shah is the Co-Founder of AABMF, year 2003 and has restructured the Foundation with revised By Laws, set up the infrastructure of the Foundation to meet new challenges and commitments to work for the Foundation for a noble cause. His specific responsibilities include: project development and its implementation, preparation of project proposals for funding , the coordination of all sub committee teams to assemble the necessary information on projects. Also, he has the responsibility of the duties of Treasurer as mentioned in the By Laws. He has also worked with the non profit organization, Veerayatan International as the project chairperson from the year 2001 to Dec. 2003, and was actively involved in building the school project at Jakhania, Kutch, Gujarat due to the earthquake that occurred in Jan. 2001. He also has set up the Bergen County Senior Citizen Organization in Bergen County, NJ, a non profit organization. He also did all the legal work including, registration to the State, writing the By Laws and obtaining the necessary approval for the Federal Tax exempt status under article 501(c)3.
Medical expertise Professional Team:
Dr. Manjula Balasubramanian, M.D. chairperson.
Dr. Balasubramanian is the Clinical Associate Professor at The Drexel University College of Medicine; Director of the Transfusion service, the Apheresis Services, the Coagulation Service and Stem Cell Lab at Hahnemann University Hospital ; Director of the laboratories at Warminster Hospital ; Director of the Hematology and Coagulation Lab and Transfusion Lab at Graduate Hospital. She also teaches at the Medical School at Drexel and is the Director of the Hematopathology Fellowship Program. She is also the Hematopathologist for St. Christopher's Hospital for children and reviews all the prospective bone marrow matches for them. She is on the medical advisory board of the American Red Cross in Philadelphia.
Dr. Nikhil C. Munshi, M. D.
Nikhil C. Munshi MD, is a board certified specialist in Internal Medicine
and Medical Oncology. He is the associate Director at Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center, Dana Farber Cancer Institute,
and at the Harvard Medical School. Where he is associated in area of research in Immunothearpy in Multiple Myeloma with
the Department of Medical Oncology/ Hematologic Neoplasia. Dr. Munshi is also a lecturer in Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Munshi received his medical degree in 1980 at Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda, India and continued his medical training with a fellowship in Internal Medicine in MS University, Baroda, India. Dr. Munshi completed a medical oncology fellowship at John Hopkins Oncology Center, Baltimore, MD. He continued his fellowship in Hematology / Oncology at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. He was Assistant Professor (1992- 1997), Div. Of Hematology / Oncology, Dept. of Medicine, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and McClellan VA Medical Center, Little Rock, AR. Dr. Munshi was Associate Professor ( 1998- 2000 ) of Medicine, Myeloma and Transplantation Research Center, UAMS, Little Rock, AR. Dr. Munshi was also the chief ( 1996-2001 ) of Molecular Oncology and Gene Thearpy, Myeloma and Tranlspalantation Reseach Center.
Dr. Munshi is widely respected for his knowledge and accomplishments in research in multiple Myeloma. He has published extensively on topics concerning multiple Myeloma and bone marrow Transplantation. Dr. Munshi also received the following awards.
- Chairman, ASH Scientific session, 1999,2000, 2001
- Leukemia Society Scholar in Clinical Research award.
- American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award.
- National Cancer Institute Institutional Training fellowship.
Dr. Sundar Jagannath, M.D.
Sundar Jagannath, MD, is a board certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He is the Chief of Bone Marrow and Blood Stem Cell Transplantation at St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York, New York, where he also serves as the Chief of the Multiple Myeloma Program. In addition, Dr. Jagannath has held the position of Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College since 1999. Dr. Jagannath received his medical degree in 1974 at Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda, India, and then continued his medical training with a Fellowship in Immuno-virology at McMaster University Medical Center in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His residency was completed at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital and at Harper-Grace Hospital, Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Jagannath also completed a Medical Oncology Fellowship at UTSCC-MD Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston, Texas.
He is a former Professor of Pathology and Medicine at the University of Arkansas. He also was the Chief of Bone Marrow Transplantation at the University of Arkansas from 1989 to 1997.
Dr. Jagannath is widely respected for his knowledge and accomplishments in bone marrow transplantation. He has published extensively on topics concerning multiple myeloma and bone marrow transplantation and is often an invited lecturer at Professional Organizations' Annual Meetings. He is a reviewer for several journals, including the American Journal of Hematology, Blood, Bone Marrow Transplantation and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society for Bone Marrow Transplantation. In 2003, Dr. Jagannath was a recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Mr. Hemish Kapadia, M.B.A. Chairperson.
Mr. Hemish Kapadia has 11 years of experience as a Project Manager and System Architect. He brings solid experience to the Technology Foundation behind the organization. His experience has included working for companies focused on using state of the art technology, such as Intel, Fleet Bank, USA Detergents, Kraft Foods (Phillip Morris USA). As a marrow donor, he understands the need for the project in India and Asia as a whole and is committed to ensure that the task is properly executed using the state of the art technology to provide an effective and efficient infrastructure for which this organization and other can rely upon.
Mr. Kashayp Malkan,
Mr. Kashayp Malkan has a B.S. in Electronics and Telecommunication. He has been working in the IT industry for the past 7 years. His area of concentration was to design and develop various types of s/w and web application. He is currently working for Ness Technology at one of the co's client. He has been volunteering for the past three years in coordinating fund raising and other events for various charitable trusts like Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Phipps.
Web Development and Maintenance professional Team:
Mr. Veeral Lakhani, B. S. Chairperson.
Mr. Viral Lakhani is a partner in computer/software company in developing software for vertical industries.
He is actively involved in many non profit Organizations in USA and India.
He is President of Kid Care Foundation, a 501©(3) non profit organization that benefits underprivileged children worldwide.
He has also developed over 20 websites for corporate (15) and non profit organization (5)
Ms. Payal Jhaveri, B.S.
Ms. Payal Jhaveri is a web developer for a defense contractor in Washington, DC. The Website is an on- library of sorts, accessible to US Military
Forces from around the world. The site gets approximately 330,000 hits per week, so her day to day duties involve a great deal of content management. She is also experienced with the various aspects of site design and maintenance. She feel that she could be useful to the AABMF in that capacity. She is familiar with programs such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, basic Macromedia Flash, Adobe Acrobat, MS office, etc.
Finance professional Team:
Sushil Kapadia,CPA, Chairperson
Currently a practicing Certified Public Accountant and Enrolled Agent with
the IRS. Sushil T. Kapadia brings a varied field of expertise to the auditing and advisement of the Organization. His experience in private practice over the last 30 years in both India as a Chartered Accountant, and in the states as Certified Public Accountant,
has given him a key understanding in perspectives on successful business and organizations, for profit and non for profit. His focus over the last 3o years was to create a strong image in the community for trust and respect, enabled through proper tax advising and following of ethical behavior.
